When going through the internet and using Party Plan United I found this great business and I wanted to let everyone know about it. I am sure that you have friends that are all taking a section of their gardens and growning their own vegetables and fruit, Gardening in the last couple of years has really grown and these ladies are showing everyone that you don’t have to have boring GREEN Gloves and GREEN Wellies, Its all about being fashionable in the garden.

So I thought I would share the information about Girlie Gardening and you never know you might want to find out about having a party yourself and may even think that you know a lot of people that would be interested in this so you fancy joining.

Girlie Gardening Party Plan is . . .

Fabulous         Funky       Fun!

  • a company run by women for women
  • aimed at getting women back into business
  • flexible: working to fit your lifestyle
  • a trendy twist on a traditional pastime

Girlie Gardening was started by two entrepreneurial Mums based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. They have created a nationwide network of Girlie Gardening Party Planners and introduced a trendy twist to an otherwise traditional pastime.

Helen James and Cathy Caudwell Todd had both become tired and frustrated with the rat race and decided that there must be something they could do to make their lives a bit easier and much more fun.

With seven children between them, Helen and Cathy were constantly trying to juggle demanding careers with the stresses of raising their families. Together they opened a small shop in Skipton, a Dale’s market town, which reflected their passion for all things gardening. They would sell all manner of pink and feminine gardening accessories and women loved them. The more they sold the more the girls realised that women were happiest when shopping, gossiping and socialising hence the light bulb moment to take their products into the land of direct selling and Party Plan.

Helen and Cathy held their first party at the home of a friend and were astonished at how well it went.  More parties followed along with Agents joining the business and so ‘Girlie Gardening’ began…

2007 saw the dynamic duo presenting their concept on the ITV1 series Tycoon with Peter Jones of Dragon’s Den fame.  Helen and Cathy had to move to London for the gruelling 12 week filming schedule and became partners for a time with the Dragon himself.

Girlie Gardening is now going from strength to strength attracting more and more Agents across the UK. The original Girlie Gardeners, Helen and Cathy design all their own products and co-ordinate production schedules across the Far East and Europe and are totally hands on at the warehousing in Yorkshire.

Both girls admit that they are busier than ever now but they love the concept that they have created and are ecstatic that they have been able to offer the business opportunity to other women.

Cathy and Helen’s inspirational concept makes for happy gardening
